Information about some summer tours on Alice in Wonderland in Oxford organised and led by local historian Mark Davies.
Join local historian, guide, and author Mark Davies for a leisurely walk around beautiful Christ Church Meadow in the footsteps of Lewis Carroll and the real Alice (daughter of the Dean of Christ Church). The walk will particularly highlight the River Thames, and the all-important role it played both in the creation of the Alice stories and as the inspiration for some of the themes and characters. The route, ending at Alice’s Shop in St Aldate’s, will also encompass relevant local history and geography, as well as other classics of fantasy literature.
Please note that this walk is intended primarily for adults and older children. Wheelchair users are welcome with prior notice.
Date: Friday 29 June
